Docs – Astra https://wpastra.com Fast, Lightweight & Customizable WordPress Theme for Any Website Wed, 10 Apr 2024 13:17:26 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.5.2 https://wpastra.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/astra-favicon.png Docs – Astra https://wpastra.com 32 32 How to Enable Single Page Import Button with White Label https://wpastra.com/docs/enable-single-page-import-button/ https://wpastra.com/docs/enable-single-page-import-button/#respond Thu, 04 Apr 2024 07:48:32 +0000 https://wpastra.com/?post_type=docs&p=176108 This document addresses an issue with the Single Page Import Button disappearing within Starter Templates when Astra’s white label functionality is enabled.

Issue: Following the introduction of the “All new AI-based Template Kit library” in Starter Templates v3.5.0, the Single Page Import Button functionality was unintentionally affected by Astra’s white labeling for starter templates. This resulted in the button disappearing when white labeling was active.

Cause: The white label condition was not implemented for the updated Single Page Import Button within Starter Templates v3.5.0. While an older button in a similar location functions correctly with white labeling, the newer button was unintentionally impacted.

Solution: To resolve this issue and ensure the Single Page Import Button functions with Astra’s white labeling for Starter Templates, you can implement the following code snippet:

add_filter( 'ast_block_templates_white_label', '__return_false', 999 );

In this video, you’ll see the Single Page Import Button reappear after adding the code snippet to functions.php. However, since Astra’s white labeling for Starter Templates is configured as “testing”, the button displays the label “Testing” instead of the usual “Template Kits.”

Thus by implementing the provided code snippet, you can restore the functionality of the Single Page Import Button within Starter Templates, which allows you to import templates seamlessly even with Astra’s white labeling active.

We hope this document has been helpful.

If you encounter any challenges or have further questions about adding the code snippet, feel free to leave your comment below or reach out to our support team. We will be happy to assist you.

Astra Widget Translation with Polylang https://wpastra.com/docs/astra-widget-translation-with-polylang/ https://wpastra.com/docs/astra-widget-translation-with-polylang/#respond Fri, 29 Mar 2024 09:22:22 +0000 https://wpastra.com/?post_type=docs&p=175940 Astra provides widget options in the Header and Footer and the widget translation works differently in Poylang. This document will show you how you can translate Astra widgets with Poylang.

Before moving further, please check this help document to learn more about making Astra multilingual with Polylang.

Widget translation with Poylang

With Polylang, you get the option to choose the language for each widget, allowing you to display specific widgets in different languages.

Translating the widgets in Polylang became different with the introduction of Block widgets in WordPress 5.8. This affects all the widget’s placement including the Astra Header Footer and Sidebar.

The ability to select languages for Block widgets is available only with the Polylang Pro plugin installed. Without Polylang Pro, you can only translate Legacy or Classic widgets.

How to Translate Astra Widgets with Polylang?

You can follow the below steps to translate with widgets added to the Astra Header, Footer, or Sidebar with Polylang.

For the Legacy or Classic Widgets:

1. Navigate to the Customizer and add the widgets to the Header, Footer, or Sidebar according to the requirements.

2. For the Legacy widgets such as Navigation Menu, Meta, etc. you get the option to select the language

3. You can add multiple such widgets and select the Language condition accordingly.

4. You can also translate the Classic widget’s text from the string translation section of Poylang as shown in the below screenshot:

For the Block Widgets:

1. Add the widgets to the website using Astra Header, Footer, or to the sidebar and publish the changes in the customizer.

2. Install the Polylang Pro plugin if you haven’t already installed it.

3. Navigate to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and select the widget placement where the widgets are added. Such as Footer Builder Widget 3 or Main Sidebar, etc.

4. Now, select the widget that you want to translate. In the right panel, you will see the option to select the language for the widget.

7. Save the changes and the widgets shall appear according to the selected language.

You may repeat the same process with all the widgets. If you wish to not use the Poylang Pro then you may need to switch the widgets to the Classic Widgets.

Please note the above guide is for only the widgets. The other translation shall work as usual. You may check this article to learn more about translating Astra Strings with Poylang.

We hope this clarifies how Polylang works with widgets. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. We’re here to help!

How to Set Block Editor as the Default Page Builder In Starter Templates https://wpastra.com/docs/set-default-block-editor/ https://wpastra.com/docs/set-default-block-editor/#respond Thu, 28 Mar 2024 05:50:27 +0000 https://wpastra.com/?post_type=docs&p=175899 If you wish to eliminate the page builder selection screen and set the Block Editor as the default while using Starter Templates, this article is just for you.

This screen is visible while importing classic starter templates.

Here’s how you can remove it:

How to Remove the Page Builder Selector Screen from Starter Templates

To remove the page builder selection screen, you’ll need to add the following code to your child theme’s functions.php file.

Note: It’s advisable to edit the functions.php file within the child theme rather than directly in the parent theme.

add_filter( 'st_enable_block_page_builder', '__return_true' );

You can add this code by any one of the following methods:

Adding Code Directly to Your functions.php File

  • Navigate to Appearance > Theme Editor > functions.php and paste the above code at the end.
  • Click on the Update File button to save this change.

Check this article for guidance on adding custom code to your WordPress sites.

Adding the Code Using Code Snippet Plugins

If you don’t want to tamper with your functions.php file directly, consider using free plugins like Code Snippets to add the above filter.

For example, here’s how you can add the same code using the Code Snippets plugin:

  • Install and activate your preferred code snippet plugin. In our case, it is Code Snippets.
  • Navigate to Snippets > Add New and add the above code to this section. Optionally, give this snippet a name and description.
  • Click on the Save Changes and Activate button once done.

The page builder selection screen will be removed from Starter Templates now!

Previewing Your Changes

Let us verify whether the page builder selection is actually removed or not:

Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins and click on the “Get Started” option under your Starter Templates plugin.

The page builder screen isn’t visible anymore and Block Editor is set as the default page builder automatically!

That’s it! We hope this article helps you. For any further assistance, please reach out to our support team. We’re always here to help.

How to Change the Background Color of Product & Shop Pages in Astra? https://wpastra.com/docs/change-background-color-of-product-shop-pages/ https://wpastra.com/docs/change-background-color-of-product-shop-pages/#respond Thu, 22 Feb 2024 11:23:06 +0000 https://wpastra.com/?post_type=docs&p=174680 Astra Pro allows you to customize the color scheme of individual pages, this document specifically focuses on customizing product and shop pages within WooCommerce.

Background Color of Product & Shop Pages in Astra

WooCommerce is an e-commerce plugin integrated with WordPress. Among the various customization preferences users have, altering the background color of product, cart, and checkout pages is a notable demand.

When it comes to adjusting the background color of the Shop/Product Page, Astra Pro provides a convenient solution through its meta settings.

In the earlier version (pre-4.4.0), Astra Pro offered only two background options: one for the entire site and one for the content. However, the latest update has introduced an enhancement, allowing users to independently adjust the background color for each page.

Why Astra Page-Specific Settings?

Astra Pro Page-Specific Settings play a crucial role in enabling users to override global settings for site and content backgrounds.

This means you have complete control over the visual presentation of each page, offering a level of customization that was previously unavailable.

Now, you can adjust your page and content background on each page. It’s like giving each page its own style. The options we had before applied the same look to the entire site. Now, you can get creative and make each page stand out.

Here’s how you can do it.

Adjusting Individual Page Colors

  • Install Astra Pro and activate the Colors & Background module on the Astra dashboard.
Colors & Background
  • You will find all of your WooCommerce website pages at Pages > All Pages. Choose the ones that you want to modify.
Pages > All Pages

You can now edit these pages as you like and save the changes.

For a visual demo on how to do this, refer to the following video.

Screen Recording at 2024-02-17 at 02-52-53.gif

This approach is applicable not only to the Shop page but also to Product, Single Product, Cart, and Checkout pages.

We trust that this guide has been informative and valuable for your customization endeavors! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
